Haigh are constantly
looking at new ways of increasing product
performance and customer satisfaction. This can be by taking
an existing product such as the half raked screen in the ACE
Screener which was first developed decades ago and giving it
a new lease of life with modern design, manufacturing and automatic
control. Combine this with other products such as the ACE Pump
and Lisep and together they give a package which does considerably
more than the individual elements before.
Then there are completely new industries where Haigh technology
and know how can answer a problem. A recent example is the Haigh
FWC (Food waste Concentrator) For most people travelling on
ships, either cross-channel ferries, cruiseliners or naval ships,
what happens to foodwaste is a mystery. |
|
International maritime
rules currently prohibit dumping of untreated waste, but the
likelihood is that dumping will altogether become unacceptable.
The Haigh Food Waste Concentrator (FWC) was designed to prototype
and tested in only three months to take a ships foodwaste and
turn it into a thick slurry which can be mixed with waste oils
and injected into a high efficiency incinerator along with other
ship waste. The machine has been tested in Gosport in a simulated
environment and viewed by
potential customers that include major cruise lines, Nato and
the UK armed forces. |
