| Haigh don't stand still with products once launched and many have had a long design life with sales maintained by continual improvements to meet customers developing needs. Probably the most developed product in the Haigh product range is the Sluicemaster bedpan disposer. This was originally launched in 1964 to dispose of the new pulp product disposable bedpans just coming onto the market. The original machine was large, slow and energy and water inefficient compared to modern versions but at the time it was revolutionary and many forward thinking hospitals found it answered their needs. | Forty years later the current range of Sluicemasters is unrecognisable when compared to the original machine. Nearly every year there has been a subtle below the skin tweak and on average every five years a relaunch with a new look and enhanced performance keeping the machine fresh and ahead of the competition. Current environmental considerations are very important and the latest machines lead the market for quietness, water usage, energy use and size. |
