HISTORY

The Haigh Engineering Company Limited was founded in 1955 by T.C.R Shepherd, and is still run under private ownership by the family. The original idea behind the Company was to produce the first British made waste disposal unit (called the Tweeny). Since then it has diversified extensively and the range now includes water borne waste disposal units for hospitals, nursing homes, catering establishments and shipboard waste. It has also expanded into sewage and effluent treatment systems and has developed close links with various Water Authorities within the UK.
Haigh equipment is also exported world-wide and is product certified to all necessary national standards. Within the UK the Company is certified to ISO 9001:2000.
The Company has two divisions - Hygiene and Sewage. The Company currently employs over 100 staff, some 11 of these being service engineers and sales staff based countrywide. The remainder are located in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. Improved efficiency in IT and innovations in computer controlled production machinery has enabled the company to remain an effective force in UK manufactured waste disposal equipment.
