The Haigh Engineering Company

Current job vacancies

As specialists in maceration, Haigh aspires to recruit and retain the best so that we remain at the forefront of British engineering and the industries in which our products are used.

We are proud to have developed a number of people from the early years of their apprenticeship through to manager status and now the testing and selection process for HWGTA applicants is currently underway for September 2017 intake.  It's an ideal time to pursue your dreams of a career in engineering and the opportunity to join an innovative, technologically advanced local company with a worldwide market for its products.

Engineering apprentices - Earn As You Learn

We are recruiting for up to three apprentices to join us in early September 2017.  Specific disciplines are likely to be machining, fitting or fabrication/welding.  We are particularly interested in supporting the career aspirations of women into engineering and would welcome female applicants.

We are looking for enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals with a specific interest in engineering processes.  You will be expected to achieve or already hold reasonable GCSE grades in five subjects, including maths and English at Grade C or above.

The successful applicants will be offered an advanced apprenticeship lasting up to four years, starting with a year off-the-job training at Herefordshire & Worcestershire Group Training Association in Holmer Road, Hereford to learn the basics of engineering.  Subsequent training will include college day release (for City & Guilds or BTEC National Diploma qualifications) and a NVQ Level 3.

Haigh has a long standing relationship with HWGTA and source our apprentice intake through them.  Information on how to apply is available on their website (www.hwgta.org) or by calling 01432 377002.
